The basic unit
of deception is denial. When the original temptation occurred it was
successfully conceived in the simple addition of one single word.
"Ye shall not
surely die:" Thus contaminated, the purity of truth diluted with but
one
denial, was perverted into a homicidal lie. Upon the tenuous foundation
of this simple misdirection, leading to the smallest of doubt, the trap
was
launched. "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your
eyes
shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." I
have
seen plenty of both good and evil in my short sojourn here on earth.
The
consummation of the deception was literally just that, consummation or
consumption.
Eve was deceived, ate the wrong thing and shared it with her spouse.
Swallowed it hook, line and sinker. Having eaten the wrong thing the
death clock started ticking. "And the LORD God commanded the man,
saying, Of every tree of
the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of
good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou
eatest
thereof thou shalt surely die." "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this
one
thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a
thousand
years as one day." "And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred
and
thirty years: and he died." So, the very thing that God warned Adam
about
came to pass. Don't eat that, or you are going to die within a day. So
what
are we to do, blame God for our bad health? Perhaps we should pray for
mercy
instead and ask for His healing touch. Having received mercy are we to
then
continue on heedless of how we got sick in the first place? That is
continue
to eat lifeless garbage living on in denial of the consequences of our
actions?
I pray not. This is the very purpose of this entire project. To
re-educate
God's people as to one simple fact, what we are is what we eat. That is
if
we are not well, we should of course first pray for healing. Then
having
implored the divine mercy of God we should faithfully expect His divine
intervention and redirection. Expect it with the very faith of God
Himself, one of whose very names is the healing God, "And make straight
paths for your feet,
lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be
healed." "But that doesn't mean that," you may protest. OK then,
continue on in your denial, I have tried do my part and tell you the
truth. Stop reading right now and just forget about what this here wild
man is ranting about. Go and do everything your doctor tells you to do
and take everything he tells you to take without question. Trust him
implicitly,
no matter what his world view is and whether or not he believes in a
healing God. There is no cure for the common cold so goes the
conventional wisdom. While you are at it keep praying for that healing.
If you can see your own duplicity in this combination of denial and
mental assent, Bravo! Read on Mac Duff. Faith by necessity comes with
corresponding action. If we truly believe something we will act like it
is true. We have prayed for healing, we don't exactly know how it will
come, but we are ready to act upon the direction of God by His Holy
Spirit. Occasionally the good Lord will intervene directly with an
instant miraculous healing. More often if we are paying attention
we will find ourselves led to conform to His will and thus receive His
blessing.
So where is this dissertation on original sin leading to? to be
continued...
